Using Social Media to Gather Data

In this activity, students will use Twitter to gather data from a widespread area. Students will also be asked to gather local data using Edmodo.

1.  Students will use our class Twitter account to send a tweet asking people to respond with the location, date and the cost of regular gas where they live. This will be done at least one week before the start of the unit to allow time for responses.

2.  Students will join our class in Edmodo and answer the question with a post of their own. They should include which local gas station, the date and the cost of regular gas.
